About the conference

Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) is a conference for girls in middle school. This day-long event will include hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). At the conference, you will get a chance to meet STEM role models and learn more about careers in those fields. You'll get to visit the United States Naval Academy and explore exciting careers such as aerospace engineering, systems engineering, medicine, physical science, naval intelligence, and other possible occupations for civilian and military women in the Navy.

PLEASE NOTE: When you sign up to attend the EYH conference, you'll sign up for a track - just pick a name you like and tell your friends which track you are in!!
You'll attend three different workshops during the day but we will pick the workshops for you - you can select the same track as your friends. All tracks will be similar.


Be prepared to be active!!!  You'll do some listening, but you'll also engage in some really fun hands-on activities including biometrics, forensics, boat-building, underwater exploration, optics and energy.

8:30am - Science and Engineering Magic
9:00am - Opening Session
9:45am - Workshop 1
10:50am - Workshop 2
12:00pm - Lunch and Career Fair
1:30pm - Workshop 3
2:30pm - Closing Session

This event is free, and the preferred method of registration is online!  There is also a morning program for parents on topics of interest to them.
