About the conference

The Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium is happy to team with Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) to bring you the 2018 Women in STEM Conference. Women in STEM is a conference for girls in 7th through 12th grades. This day-long event will include hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). At the conference, girls will get a chance to meet STEM role models and learn more about careers in those fields. Our ultimate goal is to motivate girls to become innovative and creative thinkers ready to meet 21st Century challenges.

Through fun and interactive hands-on workshops, young women learn that studying math and science can be fun! They participate in fun experiments and learn about the importance of studying as much math as possible in high school. By using local volunteers to lead workshops, girls meet with mathematicians, engineers and scientists who live and work in their own communities, who serve as role models at the conference, and who may serve as possible mentors in the future.
Find out more about the National Expanding Your Horizons Organization by going to the National EYH Website and watch a video of girls enjoying an EYH event.
